A new study claims that burning a calorie when you exercise or eliminate it from your diet, is equivalent to losing fat. This study was a bit controversial because it is usually thought that exercise combined with a diet helps one to lose weight faster.

it is easier to lose fat particularly around the mid-section because exercising increases the body’s sensitivity to its own insulin. The new study says that exercising makes no difference. It says that one’s genes determine where the weight loss will occur from, and it is not possible to lose weight from ‘target’ areas.

Keeping healthy is really not very difficult, and we worry too much about it. Having a balanced diet with the right quantities of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, and also taking a multivitamin daily and exercising a bit too does a lot to keep one healthy.

Balance is the important issue in every dietary matter. Low-card and low-fat fad diets do not think things through. The brain is 60% fat and needs the fats which the body cannot produce from our diet. Thus, if we eliminate too many fats from our diet, particularly polyunsaturated fats, then we will effectively start the brain.

Even though the brain is about 2% of the body mass, it takes up a lot of energy – about 10% of the energy we eat. Most of the energy comes from fat and carbohydrates. A balanced diet would have 60% carbohydrate,15% fat and 25% protein. Athletes need more protein for strength and more carbohydrates for energy.
